John 2 New International Version
My
dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody
does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice
for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
John
14 New
International Version
Jesus
Comforts His Disciples
“Do not let your
hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if
that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a
place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Deuteronomy
8 New
International Version
Do Not
Forget the Lord
Be
careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and
increase and may enter and possess the land the Lord promised on oath to your
ancestors. Remember
how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty
years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether
or not you would keep his commands. He humbled
you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you
nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread
alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Your clothes did not wear
out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son,
so the Lord your God disciplines you.
We Claim these
things with the Power in the Names of Jesus; The Christ; The Messiah. Amen.
